MCD Rolls Out Mobile App 311

A mobile app of the 3 municipal corporations of the capita of India was rolled out this week in an attempt to improve engagement of users in solving of complaints and advancements of civic offerings in the city. Mobile App 311 was rolled out at the Raj Niwas by Lt Governor Anil Baijal this week, an official release claimed. The app can be installed for free of cost from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

“Once installed, the app will authorize consumers by offering them spots of nearby police stations, public toilets, petrol pumps, metro stations, hospitals, parking, veterinary clinics, bus stands, gyms, libraries, and other places including markets,” the SDMC claimed to the media in an interview. Citizens will also be allowed to get in touch with emergency sections such as fire, control room, disaster management, ambulance, and women helpline, it claimed.

“Being the nodal organization, the SDMC has considerably contributed to the roll out of the application for the advantage of the people of the 3 corporations, which wrap up 94% of the complete region of the capital city,” claimed the civic body to the media in an interview. “Grievances will be registered with data in addition to the geo-tagged images. Once a grievance is lodged by citizens through the 311 App, it will be solved by the allocated officials of that locality recognized by the geo-tagged image. The citizens will be allowed to verify status of the complaint,” it claimed further.

The Mobile App 311 has been incorporated with the Ministry of Urban Affairs’ the Swachhta App. This is one more benefit that the people of the 3 corporations will be getting. “Complaints lodged by users or from call center through the 311 App will be directed to Swachhta App as well,” the civic body claimed to the media.
