On Friday, the Trump administration had said that it was in the process of soliciting the public comments on the lifting of the additional tariffs on the imports from China and this may help the country in battling the recession which the United States has been expected to see and showing a bit of flexibility in the ongoing trade war against China.
The trade representative and his office have said that they are going to allow the members of businesses and government agencies said that they would be submitting comments in case they believe that there is further amendment required in the tariffs.
It had said that the move was part of the efforts to maintain the development and keep the fight up against the pandemic of coronavirus. The trade representative in the last few weeks had granted the exclusions of Section 301 for a few of the medical products which had come from China including the examination gloves and the antiseptic wipe.
However as there is a battle for keeping the economy from collapsing in the quarantine and had halted the commerce industry, the administration had been resistant to the broader removals of the tariffs which had been imposed in the last 20 months.
Trump has considered his pressure of trade on the Chinese counterpart as the biggest achievement of his presidency and that is going to be his top argument when he goes into campaign mode in the month of November
The trade war has impacted a huge range of the goods from China with the tariffs form the feed stocks of machinery and chemicals to the printed circuit and semiconductors. The coronavirus may prompt him to rethink the tariffs
