18 Million Apple Watches Exported In 2017
Apple has set one more record yet. As per a new study from Canalys, shipments of Apple Watch set a fresh record in 2017. The firm exported record 8 Million Apple watches in the quarter four of last year, which is an elevation of 54%. The report claims, “Q4 performance of Apple was inspiring in itself, as export increased to 8 Million by over 32% as compared to the Q4 of 2016, the biggest-ever number of exports in a sole quarter, not just for the company, but for any wearable merchant.”
With this achievement, Apple has managed to overthrow Fitbit who was the earlier holder of the record. The wearable maker exported 6.1 Million units in the quarter four of 2015. Shipments of Apple Watch beat forecast, reaching 18 Million last year, up by over 54% a couple of year ago. The report also claims that the quickest selling LTE wearable in the industry was Apple Watch series 3, with exports increasing 2x as compared to the previous quarter to cross 1.6 Million. The device performed well in the markets of Australia, the U.S., and Japan.
Senior analyst at Canalys, Jason Low, claimed, “Apple has won the game for wearables. In spite of ground-breaking designs, such as the circular screens and rotating bezels used by other merchants, Apple has gone far ahead as it carries on to aim on its fundamental user base of iPhone. Its latest upgrades to the Series 3, such as Apple Heart Study and GymKit, are proving to provide convincing use cases, motivating consumers to invest more on accessories.
Lately, Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, also claimed that Apple Watch saw its most excellent quarter during the season of holiday last year. He also claimed that models of Apple Watch series were 2x high in requirement in comparison to the Apple Watch Series 2 a year back.
