Lok Sabha Elections 2019—BJP’s Options In Andhra Pradesh
New Delhi: Political parties associated with NDA start their preparations for the General Elections of 2019. The government is at present serving its last term and hence this is the prime time when the allies start examining the present and forecast for the future.
Shiv Sena has already announced in January that in the next Lok Sabha elections they will not be supporting the Bhartiya Janata Party. Now TDP is pressing the government to fulfill its demands for their state, Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister of the state, Chandrababu Naidu has strictly instructed his party members to raise the demands of the state government at the parliament. There was a meeting held by TDP on Sunday to discuss their future course of action.
Andhra Pradesh will have its state elections next year along with the General Elections and the blame of any unfulfilled demand of the state will be put on the central. The CM had several meetings with the PM through the recent months regarding this.
Andhra CM is agitated with the fact that reimbursement commitment of Rs3451 crores on the Polavarm project when Telangana moved out of the state is yet to be fulfilled. Arun Jaitley and Nitin Gadkari, the Finance Minister and Roads Minister respectively tried to pacify Chandrababu Naidu, but have failed. The central government has also promised to build a railway zone at Vishakapatnam. There are few more meetings between the central government and the state government are supposed to take place this month.
PDP also does not seem to be much satisfied with the way the government is functioning; the rift was related to the open fire by the military force which included Major Aditya and 10 Gharwal rifles. Smaller allies like RLSP and SBSP have also few grudges against BJP which the party is trying to sort out.###
